Our Sustainability Storr-y: Building on Progress in 2025
At Storr, sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s an ongoing commitment. Through our PreOwned office furniture program, we work every day to reduce waste, extend the life of high-quality furniture, and help organizations and individuals create more environmentally responsible workplaces.
In 2023, our team celebrated a major milestone by diverting over half a million pounds of office furniture from landfills. In 2025, we’re proud to share that our impact has grown even further.
Over the course of the year, 875,156 pounds of office furniture were saved from landfills through Storr’s PreOwned program. That represents thousands of desks, chairs, workstations, and storage pieces given a second life instead of being discarded.
Every item reused is one less piece of furniture contributing to landfill waste—and one more opportunity for businesses to furnish their spaces in a more sustainable way.
Extending the Life of Quality Furniture
One of the reasons the PreOwned program is so impactful is the quality of the furniture itself. Much of our inventory comes from trusted, commercial-grade manufacturers known for their durability and long product lifecycles.
These pieces are designed to perform in busy office environments for years. By recirculating them through our PreOwned program, we’re helping maximize that lifespan while reducing the need for new manufacturing and the resources that come with it.
Supporting Sustainable Workplaces
As more organizations focus on sustainability goals, furniture decisions can play a larger role than many realize. PreOwned furniture can contribute toward environmentally responsible office design and may help support projects pursuing LEED certification through the U.S. Green Building Council.
When a significant portion of an office’s furnishings come from refurbished or previously used products, projects may earn points toward certification—making PreOwned an easy and impactful step toward greener workplaces.
